DIOR presents THE COSTUMES FROM THE APPLE ORIGINAL SERIES THE NEW LOOK, EXHIBITED EXCLUSIVELY AT LA GALERIE DIOR
To mark the launch of The New Look – an Apple TV+ series created by Todd Adam Kessler –, the Galerie Dior is inaugurating, as from February 14*, a unique exhibition room dedicated to the costumes, conceived according to the Dior archives.
In a specially devised scenography, visitors will be able to notably discover a key event featured in the title sequence: the legendary Sorbonne conference, held in 1955. Christian Dior was the earliest couturier to be invited to speak about his craft at the prestigious Parisian university. This talk was followed by a défilé in which ten of Monsieur Dior’s models were unveiled to 1,200 students and privileged spectators. Among the silhouettes presented to music, the Bar ensemble, signature symbol of the New Look, preceded the A suit of spring-summer 1955. In the heart of the Galerie Dior, the excitement and magic of this suspended moment are thus reborn.
Costume designer Karen Serreau and her team have reproduced, with infinite precision, Christian Dior’s haute couture pieces, based on sketches, fabric samples, period photographs and other treasures preserved and shared by Dior Heritage.
A captivating journey through time, retracing the dazzling odyssey of Dior style.
*Open to the public from February 14 (day of the worldwide release of The New Look on Apple TV+) until May 13, 2024 (in parallel with the exhibition highlighting the ties uniting Dior and women, also at the Galerie Dior).
