A World of Discovery: TEFAF New York Announces Exhibitor Line Up and Curated Booth collaborations for Fall FAIR
TEFAF announces the 2019 exhibitor line-up for TEFAF New York Fall which returns to the historic Park Avenue Armory, November 1-5, 2019, honoring art from antiquity to the early 20th century. 90 exhibitors— including 16 participants new to TEFAF New York, will take part in the fourth iteration of the Fair, which launched in October 2016 to wide acclaim.
This year’s Fair will introduce a series of curated booth collaborations — each presenting a dynamic mix of exhibitors, specializing in historic and contemporary works, together in the same space. These collaborative presentations, set in select historic rooms of the Park Avenue Armory, will showcase the influence various eras have on each other throughout the art historical canon. Some of the world’s top contemporary and modern art specialists have joined TEFAF New York Fall especially to partner in these unique collaborative presentations, challenging themselves to present their material in a way that captures the aesthetic interplay and dialogue between their works.
Bringing together a global community of collectors, interior designers, museum curators and connoisseurs, TEFAF New York is recognized for going beyond the boundaries of a traditional art fair at the Park Avenue Armory.
“TEFAF is well-known for offering an unparalleled collector experience,” says Sofie Scheerlinck, Managing Director of TEFAF New York. “Ever-conscious of our savvy fair-going public, we want to ensure they have a new experience every time they visit the Fair. TEFAF is about discovery, and about coming across something you didn’t think you would find. The Fall mixed booth concept is very much in that spirit, with exhibitors joining forces to illustrate thought-provoking connections among their varying fields of expertise.”
The Booth Collaborations will pair renowned international specialist dealers in historical and history-in-the-making works, across collecting categories, media and millennia. Among the planned booth collaborations are: Colnaghi (old master paintings) and Ben Brown (contemporary art); Anne Sophie Duval (modern design) and Almine Rech (modern and contemporary art); Rob Smeets (old master paintings) and Van de Weghe (modern and contemporary art); Cahn (antiquities) and Mayoral Gallery (European paintings, drawings and sculpture); Charles Ede (antiquities and ancient art) and Sean Kelly (contemporary art).
