Art’s pop spirit finds a serpentine groove through heritage codes in the new #DiorKaws Capsule by Kim Jones and Kaws.
Prolonging the fascinating, inventive dialogue initiated at the Dior Summer 2019 Show*, the house reveals Dior and Kaws, an exclusive capsule dreamed up by Kim Jones in collaboration with Kaws, a leading figure in contemporary art.
Infused with a joyful, pop energy, the pieces combine iconic Dior codes and the singular universe of the New York artist.
Symbolizing this fusion of excellence, the “Dior” logo has been reconceived in an unprecedented stylized version: a majestic snake outlines this emblematic signature and undulates between its letters. This magnetic design adorns cotton faille bermudas, quilted shirts embellished with cannage graphics, enveloping knits magnified by the Dior Oblique motif, as well as bags from the rider 2.0 line, small leather goods and B33s.
Continuing this hypnotic enchantment, a bewitching reptile also forms the “CD” initials with an irresistibly mischievous air, sublimating jackets, sports ensembles and B57s.
Elegant and audacious, the looks are punctuated by B35 nxxt sneakers and their assertive volume – here in neon yellow and red – completed with refined brass jewelry, such as necklaces, bracelets and brooches.
