Designed by Kim Jones, the Beachwear 2021 Capsule was inspired by the Artistic Director’s creative dialogue with Kenny Scharf*, initiated for the House’s fall 2021 Collection.
At the crossroads of the vintage, sportswear, fashion and casual universes, this new wardrobe is infused with a new, free and joyful energy. Brimming with the inventive passion of the American artist, an ensemble composed of a silk shirt and a swimsuit – complete with a bandana – brings to life the artist’s iconic Viva Mare Viva Mar painting featuring aquatic creatures in pop colors.
Echoing the 1960s and 1970s, retro t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts and bathrobes combine dior oblique motifs in tone-on-tone and terry cotton, along with two-tone effects and plays on transparency. Reflecting relaxed elegance, tracksuits are revisited in blue or white and feature the “Dior” logo in rubber; iconic leather goods and accessories also punctuate these looks celebrating the gentle life.
In this spirit, the saddle clutch or a refined boat bag adorned with the Dior Oblique jacquard are subtly paired with the Dior paradise espadrilles.
Meanwhile, the essential dior atlas sandals – true objects of desire – come in a new white version. As a final touch, a bottle in steel may be worn crossbody thanks to an irresistible leather and nylon shoulder strap. A summer ode to creativity and an invitation to escape.
