Dior Fall Campaign Pays Tribute to Feminist Artist

The ads, featuring a mosaic of portraits, were inspired by a photographic series from the Seventies by Italian feminist art.

Dior unveils images from the campaign for the Autumn-Winter 2020-2021 women’s ready-to-wear collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri, inspired by Italian feminist art.

Captured through the lens of Paola Mattioli, the models incarnate a committed spirit, mirroring the philosophy of the Creative Director of Dior women’s collections.

A true ode to pluralistic femininity, this series of captivating, poetic and spontaneous portraits showcases key codes seen on the runway, from polka dots and checks to the reinvented Bar silhouette. Underscoring this assertive allure are velvet versions of the Dior Book Tote and Lady D-Lite bags as well as the new Dior Bobby and emblematic scarves. On t-shirts, the “I say I*” manifesto echoes the show’s scenography and radiates the power of the feminine; a powerful celebration of diversity and a singularity that goes beyond stereotypes.

*In Italian “Io dico io”, the introduction to the 1971 manifesto La presenza dell’uomo nel femminismo by the Italian feminist Carla Lonzi, one of the major inspirations for this show.
